Alberton, Johannesburg
Bridge Church in Alberton, Johannesburg, is a modern church dedicated to fostering positive social change within the local community and moving lives forward. With a rapidly growing congregation, the church recently expanded its capacity from 400 to 900 as part of a major renovation project. Stage Audio Works (SAW) was commissioned to design, supply and install a complete audio solution to support the church’s evolving needs.
SAW implemented a state-of-the-art Plus Audio system to meet the church’s requirements. Lee Thomson, SAW Project Sales Manager, commented that it was fantastic to see the technology being used effectively. He explained that the church now has a system that delivers the necessary headroom, coverage and intelligible audio reproduction within a reasonable budget. This project not only benefits the church but also reinforces its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
The project entailed a significant upgrade to the church’s audio infrastructure. SAW replaced the outdated point-source system with a superior Plus Audio line array solution tailored for the expanded space, featuring eight PA14i cabinets with a 15-degree curvature and an additional four with a 30-degree dispersion. These were configured in left and right hangs and supported by four sub-bass loudspeakers for low-end reinforcement. Thomson explained that the Plus Audio solution was selected for its excellent performance-to-cost ratio, enabling SAW to design a system that delivers optimal coverage, SPL levels and exceptional audio fidelity.

“We’re really happy with the upgrade. The SAW team were extremely supportive and reassuring throughout the process, and they delivered exceptionally on all fronts!” – Pastor Nikki Coleman
“We’re thankful that Lee connected us, and it will be a huge benefit going forward to have someone on board who understands the system. Our goal is to eventually cater to an audience of 3,000, so obviously we will be looking to expand the system down the line, and we’ll be sure to call on SAW’s expertise when that time comes.” – Pastor Trevor Coleman
